Learn the historical customs of shofar blowing, the laws and rituals governing shofar blowing, how to produce the notes on the shofar and how to call them out for the shofar-blower.

Forgive Me: Modern Poetry of Atonement

The Yom Kippur liturgy is filled with poetic evocations of remorse and pleas for forgiveness--themes that have also spoken powerfully to modern poets. We'll look at the ways some familiar poets, from William Carlos Williams to Yehuda Amichai, have expressed regret and sought absolution for faults great and small.
